This Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) instructor-led training course shows you how to use Disciplined Agile (DA) to improve your team’s way of working. In just two days, you’ll become familiar with the foundational agile and lean practices that DA supports, practice using the tool kit to solve problems and learn how to build high-performance teams.
Filled with activities, thoughtful discussions, instructor guidance, and more, this course will prepare you to take the Disciplined Agile Scrum Master exam and, equally important, start using Disciplined Agile immediately.

In this DASM course, you will learn how to:
- Understand the Disciplined Agile mindset and its underlying principles, such as pragmatism, the power of choice, and adapting to context.
- Learn about the fundamentals of agile and lean and how to use both approaches to produce business value.
- Explore multiple agile and lean techniques from methods such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe®, and more.

Recommended Experience
While there is no formal prerequisite for this DASM course, familiarity with common agile concepts and terminology will help you to get the most value out of your DASM training experience.
While this DASM course would benefit Project/Program Managers, Agilists, and DevOps Practitioners, to name a few, the skills learned are valuable to any team member. No agile experience is required.
Certification Information
Attendees must be present (either virtually or in-person) for the entire course duration to receive certification candidacy.
The DASM exams are administered through Pearson VUE. Each exam is an online, non-proctored test including 50 multiple-choice questions. The total exam appointment is 120 minutes (about 2 hours): 30 minutes for the introduction, tutorial, and survey and 90 minutes (about 1 and a half hours) for completing the exam.

Disciplined Agile is not a framework but a tool kit that focuses on the decisions you need to consider, the options available to you, and the trade-offs associated with these options. It shows you how to effectively combine strategies from Scrum, Kanban, SAFe® (Scaled Agile Framework), and many other approaches in a tailorable and scalable manner.
Organizations that adopt Disciplined Agile go to market sooner, deliver value faster and make their customers happier. Disciplined Agile (DA) enterprise decision support tool consists of Agile and Lean practices that help clients make better software and project delivery decisions.
After your DASM course is finished, your instructor will provide your name to the DASM certifying body. Upon receipt, an exam access link will be emailed directly to you. Please note it can take up to a few business days following the training for the student to receive the exam link.
Yes, you must first complete the Disciplined Agile (DA) workshop course before taking the desired certification exam.
The exam is administered online through Pearson VUE. You will need to log in to your PMI (Project Management Institute) account and access the link to the exam from the myPMI dashboard:
- Visit https://pmi.org
- Log into your myPMI profile
- Click your name at the top right-hand corner to open a dropdown menu
- Click on Certifications
- On the left-hand side, click on My Micro-Credentials
- From there, the screen should populate your status, and you will see a purple Exam Details button
You must have a PMI ID with a valid mailing address and valid phone number. This is required information for any candidate to test through Pearson VUE. If the address and phone number are not completed, the student will not be able to take the exam.
The DASM/DASSM exam is a non-proctored exam, so you may take it at any time of day (or night) when you are ready. You will have 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) from the time you receive the exam link to take the exam, and you may retake it two more times within those 30 days if you do not pass the first attempt. However, there will be a $150 exam retake fee.
Yes, your DASM certification is good for one year. To renew the certification, you must earn 7 PDUs (Professional Development Units) in agile topics and pay the $50 renewal fee.
